Information Technology Security Officer at Lekwa Local Municipality

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12.
• Three year Diploma in Information Technology/Infonnation Systems or relevant equivalent qualification at NQF level 6
• S+ or CISSP certificate will be added advantage
• 2 -5 years relevant experience in ICT security
• Strong ethical thinking and decision making skills
• Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, data storage systems and phone systems
• Knowledge and understanding of methods and approaches to organize and execute technical interventions and/ or diagnose and resolve deviations from performance standards.
• Firm grasp on ICT infrastructure and best practices
• Excellent ,VTitten and verbal communication skills.
• Valid code B driver's license

Key Performance Areas

• Keeping track of cyber threats and updates other members of the team accordingly.
• Evaluating application configurations and advice on security issues.
• Evaluating the effectiveness of existing security measures.
• Developing and delivering regular training programs for employees on cyber risk and Cyber Security.
• Provide advice on best practices and standards on security and risk in IT.
• Carrying out continual assessment of infrastructure and data- identifying potential vulnerabilities and proposing solutions.
• Evaluating the effectiveness of existing security measures
• Reporting any unauthorized content on the website to immediate superior.
• Producing regular reports and analytics on internal and el>1emal cyber/infonnation security threats lo the manager ICT/
• Oversee the management of operational matters related to IT security (e.g, vulnerability management, firewall management, network security management, etc)
• Define and maintain the cybersecurity strategy for the organisation establishing the risk appetite, states, phases of maturity and implementation plans.
• Monitor production infrastructure in the cloud and on-premises, in order to proactively address security concerns as efficiently as possible
