Infrastructure Support Engineer (ICT) - Hartbeesfontein
The Infrastructure Support Engineer is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining hardware and software components to ensure the smooth running of computer systems. Responsibilities include installing and configuring computer hardware and being the primary point of contact for IT support.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12
Tertiary qualification in computer science or related field will be advantageous.
Certification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
Minimum of 3 years proven experience as an IT Technician or similar relevant position
Valid code 8/EB driver’s license as well as own reliable transport.
Able to work overtime when required.
Must be service orientated and have interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
Duties and Responsibilities
Supporting of all desktops, sever, printer and network infrastructure.
Supporting desktop applications like MS Office.
Supporting of Shop floor equipment and software in the factory.
Supporting of Marel and Terioka hardware between sites
Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.)
Check computer hardware (HDD, mouses, keyboards etc.) to ensure the functionality.
Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications.
Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance.
Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems.
Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment.
Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work.
Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule.
Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders.
