Instrumentation Mechanician at Anglo American

Job Description:

Your responsibilities include:

• Attend and conduct Safety meeting and participate in Risk assessments

• Ensure that material, spares and equipment are available as required

• Exercise judgment with regards to replacement of components

• Records results of all legal examinations in the appropriate format

• Completing job cards and description of work and spares used (PM’s) 

• Attending to Breakdowns and emergencies as required

• Calibrate and Maintenance of all equipment within the Control Solution

• System Trouble Shooting and Hardware Problems resolution

• Support on Existing instrumentation  

This role is in the Engineering Department at a C2 level reporting to the Engineering Foreman.

Qualifications:

• Matric or NQF Level 3

• Anglo Recognised Instrumentation Mechanician Trade Certificate

To be successful, you will have the following experience: 

• At least 2 years’ experience as an Instrument Mechanician in the mining environment 

• Plant experience will be advantageous

Additional information:

• Basic Computer Literate

• You will be required to work overtime and standby

• Driver’s license code 08

• If successful, you will be required to undergo a Medical Fitness Test
