Insurance Claims Assistant - Contract at TFG (The Foschini Group)

Key Responsibilities:

Claims Assessment and Closure

• Management of the insurance claims mailbox.
• Qualifying new claims, checking accuracy, validity and completion.
• Processing claims to Bordereaux database (SICAS)
• Communicating new claim to relevant stakeholders, with claim number and details.
• File creation and documentation of claims: Volume.
• Manage, investigate, update and finalize claims.
• Update stakeholders with the claims progress report outstanding issues: Stock Department & GSD.

Recoveries

• Assess claims for potential recovery
• Manage and instruct the stores IBT process
• Receipt and assessing of damaged stock
• Capturing and filing of IBT’s
• Compiling salvage tender and managing the sale.
• Creating salvager invoices.
• Confirming receipt of payment.
• Release of salvage stock to the salvager.
• Allocating of salvage payment to the relevant claim.

Finance Management

• Processing of vendor/supplier purchase orders to SAP
• Non-vendor verification and processing: One-time expenses (Third Party Claims)
• Adhoc SAP payments: Line Manager
• Journals: Stock & Salvage Allocations
• Scan and update to Volume  Journals: Stock & Salvage Allocations + 33190 + Insurance Account Monitoring

Database Development and Administration

• Bordereaux Management: Reconciliation, Balancing of SAP & BD, Claim Errors and exceptions.
• Claim Queries

Qualifications and Experience:

• Relevant Bcom degree in Finance/Risk/Insurance
• One to two years’ experience in finance/insurance environment advantageous
• Solid knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Excel advantageous
