Internship - finance at Edelman

Job Description

This role will be responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures.

Responsibilities;

• Maintaining and updated general ledger while ensuring accurate and appropriate recording of information
• Sends invoices to clients and follows up on payments
• Management and daily reconciliation of petty cash
• Reconciles debtors and creditors statements for control purposes
• Ensures accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses
• Assist in payment of statutory returns
• Prepares suppliers payments

Qualifications & Requirements;

• Bachelor degree in Finance or Accounting – completed or studying towards it
• Knowledge of accounting applications such as Quickbooks, Sage, or Pastel as well as Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to details and accuracy
• Planning and Organising skills
• Analytical skills
• Knowledge of industry changes in regards to issues affecting accounting
• Ability to maintain confidential information
