Inventory Planner at A-Gas South Africa

You are responsible for stock control and other operational activities to ensure the timely supply of product to customers.

Reporting to the Operations Manager you will work closely with the broader Operations team, Customer Services, Sales and Finance, Group IT and in-bound logistics providers and off-site warehouse providers.

What else will you do?

• Maintain the stock planning sheet ensuring purchases in line with customer demand and working capital limits.
• Assist with preparation of daily and weekly production plan and the evaluation of production/sales trends and material, maintenance of SIOP tool and preparation of bulk material movement plan and blending schedules
• Update supplier pricing sheet.
• Ensure maintenance and promotion of effective and cost-efficient supplier relationships.
• Maintain the consumable store, ensuring minimum order quantities are held for all items.
• Facilitate stock counts in line with stock count procedure, analysing stock figures for variances, corrective actions and recommendations.
• Ensure correct stock levels at all branches/ distribution centres are proactively maintained in accordance with the planning system for optimisation of stock levels.
• Ensure accurate completion of daily stock sheets and preparation of month end stock reconciliation
• Be the superuser for Cyltrak (in-house cylinder tracking system) and all things associated with its use
• Manage cylinder tracking and forecasting, ensuring accurate monthly reconciliations
• Manage incoming and outgoing shipments of stock/cylinders to ensure that items are available when required.
• Ensure ISO’s are turned around efficiently to minimise cost.
• Negotiate contracts and rates with appropriate transportation partners to ensure all product shipped is cost effective and relationships are maximised.

THE PERSON

The successful applicant will have a Grade 12 with a relevant degree/diploma and 5+ years’ work experience in planning, stock, logistics within a similar environment. SIOP understanding and practical experience working with an ERP is essential. Success in this role will not only depend on your knowledge, but how you go about your work.
