We are hiring an investment banking intern to be part of creating the first financial institution focusing on ESG in Africa. Starting date for the role is from January 2022. Duration to be discussed, but expected to be approximately six months.

Job Description:

The role of the intern will be to assist in the origination and execution of equity private placements, mergers and acquisitions, debt and capital structure advisory and other financial consulting work. The role is based in Johannesburg, South Africa on a hybrid model (work at the office + work from home).

Key responsibilities:
• Supporting senior bankers in origination and execution efforts
• Create and maintain Excel models for trading comparables
• Create company financial models and other financial analysis
• Prepare company profiles
• Assist in preparation of information memorandum, management presentations, board documents, memoranda and other client deliverables
• Maintain data room on behalf of clients
• Research on industries with high ESG impact
• Interact with clients and other advisers
• Supporting senior management in the development of the organisation

Requirements:
• Passion to change the world and desire to have a long-lasting positive impact on the African continent
• Very strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
• Strong communication skills, and ability to interact with clients and other advisers
• Self-motivated and fast learner
• Ability to work in hybrid model, both in office and work-from-home
• Strong academic background
• Ability to work in SA (SA national, permanent resident or valid work permit)
