Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support and assistance to Food Safety and Quality Officer
• Work in accordance of Food Safety Management and Quality System
• Assist in documentation and maintaining Food Safety Management System (FSMS) records (traceability, verification, cleaning and hygiene records)
• HACCP and Food Safety team member
• Capturing and trending quality and safety data
• Environmental Monitoring (efficiently collecting samples for microbiological -swabs and chemical analysis)
• Consistent monitoring of food manufacturing facility FSMS processes and procedures
• Ensure timely verification of equipment (scales, thermometers, ovens and chillers)
• Assist in conducting quality checks and sensory evaluation of raw materials and finished goods
• Actively engaging and effectively communicating quality and food safety issues to process operators and supervisors
• Assist in training team members on induction, food safety and work instructions
• Conducting daily process inspections, personal and facility hygiene
• Assist in internal audits and external audit preparations
• Assist in non-conformances identification, documentation and problem solving
• Assist in supplier contracts (Lab, pest control, cleaning chemicals)

Qualifications:

• BTech/N. Dip Food Technology / BSc or Honours Food Science
• A minimum of one year’s work experience within a Food Safety and or Quality Department
• Familiar with food safety legislation

Experience:

• Food Safety / Quality Assurance: 1 year (Required)

Salary: R10,000.00 per month
