    Junior Academic Programme Developer (Applied Psychology Faculty)

    The South African College of Applied Psychology (SACAP) is the leading independent provider of education in psychology, counselling and coaching, offering accredited undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications.

     

    SACAP is looking for a Junior Academic Programme Developer (JAPD) for the Applied Psychology Faculty. The Junior Academic Programme Developer forms a part of the Institutional Academic Team and is accountable to the respective Faculty Academic Programme Developer for the amendment and development of modules and related activities in the academic programmes, inclusive of qualifications, short courses and micro-credentials, to ensure they continually embody high levels of academic quality and rigour. The Junior Academic Programme Developer will report to the Faculty Academic Programme Developer.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Adherence to the module development, revision and amendment schedule. This includes all modules running in the Faculty’s programmes, including short courses and micro-credentials.

    • Responsible in ensuring the quality and appropriateness of formative and summative assessments, in modules located in Academic programmes, short courses and micro-credentials.

    • Takes responsibility for sourcing relevant textbooks and resources, where applicable, that complement the programmes and modules.

    • Source, and compile a list of relevant e-books for modules and programmes.

    • Take responsibility for the roll-out of SACAP’s copyright compliance strategy in SACAP’s programmes.

    • Actively participates in Faculty related research projects.

    • Actively involved in teaching, learning and scholarship.

     

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Ideally holds a Honours to Master’s degree in psychology or other relevant field.

    • Relevant work experience in module/curriculum development.

    The JAPD role will directly support the role and function of the Faculty Academic Programme Developer and the Head of Faculty: Applied Psychology.

     

    Operating Hours

    This is a full-time position operating from Mondays to Fridays*:

    Monday – Thursday: 08:30 – 17:00

    Friday: 08:30 – 16:00

    *Due to the nature of this role, there will be a need to work flexible hours to the extent to which it is reasonably necessary to perform the duties of this position.
