Junior Business Systems Analyst at Learning Sandbox

Job description:

We are looking for a Business Systems Analyst to join the Learning Sandbox team. You’ll be  working within the development team and play a vital role in overseeing and facilitating projects, processes and internal systems to ensure the successful publishing of learning content as well as the completion of projects.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee systems and processes for publishing website content:

  • Determine operational objectives by studying business functions, gathering information, evaluating output requirements and formats.

  • Track and manage the flow of projects through the various phases.

  • Design new processes by analyzing requirements, constructing workflow charts and diagrams, studying system capabilities and writing specifications.

  • Improve systems by studying current practices and/or designing modifications.

  • Recommend controls by identifying problems and developing improved procedures.

  • Troubleshooting end user issues where applicable. 

• Support with the specifications, testing and implementation of all website enhancement Roadmap/ad hoc projects:

  • Working with the Product Owner and business stakeholders to define project requirements by identifying project milestones and monitoring project progress by tracking activity, resolving problems, publishing progress reports and/or recommending actions.

  • Supporting the successful completion of Development sprint cycles; eliciting requirements, writing technical specifications, understanding system dependencies, defining acceptance criteria and creating test cases.

  • Assume user acceptance testing responsibilities across the software development lifecycle. 

• Provide references for internal users by writing and maintaining user documentation, providing help desk support and/or training.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.

• 1-2 years work experience in a web development, digital and/or education related industry.

• Specific skills; basic understanding of programming languages (HTML & CSS), software design, software documentation, agile software development process, software requirements specification writing, analyzing information, teamwork and written communication.

• Collaborative work ethic, contributes to team effort by accomplishing results as needed, maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and/or benchmarking best practices.

• Must be eligible for legal employment in South Africa.
