Junior Data Scientist - Cape Town at Intelligent Debt Management

Purpose

• Our Growth Analytics team works closely with the Sales and Marketing teams to help deliver on growth in clients and revenue for the company. The team is responsible for advanced analytics, predictive models and providing insights, with the intention of improving overall conversions. Along with strong analytical capabilities, Growth Analysts have excellent communication skills and are able to communicate insights and results back to business.

Role definition

The core functions of the Data Scientist include:

• Collect, analyse, and interpret large data sets from a variety of sources.
• Develop and maintain data models.
• Identify trends and patterns in data and provide actionable insights.
• Implement statistical methods to analyse data and create predictive models.
• Monitor and report on performance of data models.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop data-driven solutions.
• Presenting information using data visualization techniques.
• Support and provide recommendations on data infrastructures.

Desired Background

• 1-2 years of relevant work experience
• Proven data modelling capabilities
• Expertise in using data mining and machine learning algorithms
• Proficiency in using Python or R for data analysis
• Proficiency in using SQL as a querying tool
• Practical experience in problem solving, delivering insights and presenting to insights to management
• Excellent time management capabilities
• Great communication (verbal and written)
• Exceptional ability to manage expectations and communicate progress towards desired goal
