Job Description

• A leading insurance underwriting business is looking for a Junior Data Scientist to join their growing analytics team.

You’ll work closely with underwriting and senior management teams on pricing, product development, and performance monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Insights: Analyse claims, premium, and policy data; create dashboards and reports.
• Pricing Support: Assist in pricing model development and portfolio monitoring.
• Automation & Tools: Build scripts and tools in Python/SQL; support reporting and data processes.
• Collaboration: Work with underwriters, IT, and management to develop data-driven solutions.

Ideal Candidate:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Data Science, Statistics, Actuarial, Engineering) with strong academic performance.
• Programming experience in Python and SQL.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, basic VBA).
• Up to 2 years’ experience in data analysis, BI, or actuarial-type roles.
• Familiarity with Power BI or similar tools.
• Bonus: Exposure to geospatial data or insurance industry.
