Overview

• We have an exciting career building opportunity for a Junior Floor Manager at a well-known restaurant, situated in the heart of Stellenbosch. 

Ideal Candidate:

• If you have 2 – 3 years’ experience in a high-paced restaurant environment, resides in the local vicinity of Stellenbosch / Winelands area, fully bilingual (Afrikaans and English) and have your own reliable transport, we would like to hear from you! A formal hospitality qualification will be advantageous. 

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain training and provide ongoing support for front-of-house staff, including product knowledge, service standards, safety, and daily operations
• Uphold food quality, correct portioning, hygiene, and cleanliness standards, while suggesting operational improvements where needed
• Demonstrate professionalism and respect towards both staff and guests
• Follow company procedures, monitor billing and attendance, report absenteeism, and assist with equipment control and maintenance
• Maintain thorough knowledge of the menu, ingredients, and preparation methods
• Ensure the restaurant is fully prepared for service, with adequate stock and equipment available
• Manage cash collection and ensure accurate cash-ups, taking accountability for any variances
• Adhere to health, hygiene, and safety standards, ensure clean uniforms, and report any risks or suspicious matters immediately
• Minimise losses due to wastage, breakage, theft, or negligence
• Maintain stock levels and ensure all guest items are correctly billed
• Conduct regular maintenance checks, ensure equipment is in good working order, and report any faults promptly
