    Sous Chef: Upmarket Winelands Restaurant

    Overview

    • Our client, a Sophisticated Restaurant, situated on a Stellenbosch Wine Estate, is looking to employ an experienced Sous Chef  who is a disciplined culinary leader.
    • As the Sous Chef, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, supervising staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
    • The position will balance advanced technical cooking skills with high-pressure staff management, inventory control, and rigorous adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.  You will also assist with menu planning and costing recipes, food consumption, strict stock controls, stock management, stock movement, rotation and ordering and supplier liaison, excellent control of food cost, wastage and kitchen preparation, staff development and disciplining, setting up and managing SOP’s, ensuring the team has high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety.
