    Junior Industrial Engineer

    Summary

    • Simulation modelling and general system and data analysis to be conducted in rail, transit, road and transport logistics projects. The work focusses on a variety of different projects to analyse and develop logistics processes and systems, improve quality, cost reduction, enhance productivity and increase yield on resources

    Key Responsibilities

    The candidate is required to perform the following functions and more in due course:

    • Construct simulation models, apply statistical and optimization techniques to identify system constraints, bottlenecks and deliver optimum solutions.
    • Working on simulation and modelling projects within a project team.
    • Operating and testing scenarios to achieve client objectives.
    • Conducting sensitivity analysis on various input parameters within a simulation model.
    • Designing modelling outputs (numerical, statistical and graphical) to communicate and interpret model results.
    • Understanding the problem to solve, data collection, verify that the data collected is correct and complete, simulation and building of models, testing and benchmarking against other models previously built.
    • Work in project teams reporting to a Project Manager or Business Unit Lead
    • Engage with clients and project teams to develop suitable models and present findings and recommendations.
    • Applying simulation to complex processes requires passion and talent for simulation modelling

    Qualifications And Experience

    Simulation experience is preferred, however the graduate will be trained on the tools Hatch utilise.

    • Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering or similar.
    • Additional academic qualifications will be an advantage.
    • Any simulation modelling experience is preferable.
    • High analytical and problem solving skills, attention to detail, quick learner, can grasp concepts naturally, interpreted trends.
    • Good communication and presentation skills with ability to work in a dynamic solutions team environment.
    • Experience in advanced excel preferable.

    Requirements

    • Description of any simulation tools experience and work performed during and post studying. Simulation can encompass Excel models and software such as Arena, Simio or similar.
    • Any additional information worth mentioning to strengthen the CV, such as:
    • Achievements earned during and post studying.
    • Knowledge falling outside of the Industrial Engineering subjects.
