    Junior IT Technician

    • CemAir (Pty) Ltd, a South African Part 121 / 135 airline based at O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, seeks to employ a dynamic, results-driven Junior IT Technician. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing first-line IT support and technical assistance to staff by ensuring the effective setup, maintenance, and support of end-user devices, access systems, and basic network functions.

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provide first-line technical support to staff (onsite and remote).
    • Assist with troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
    • Log and track support tickets in the IT helpdesk system.
    • Escalate complex issues to senior IT personnel when required.
    • Configure and deploy laptops, desktops, iPads, and mobile devices.
    • Install and update operating systems and company-required applications.
    • Prepare devices for new employees (imaging, email setup, system access).
    • Decommission and securely wipe devices when required.
    • Assist with user account creation and deactivation (Microsoft 365).
    • Support biometric system activation and access control system setup.
    • Ensure compliance with company IT security policies.
    • Assist in basic network troubleshooting (LAN/WAN connectivity issues).
    • Support printer setup and shared resource configuration.
    • Assist with routine server checks under supervision.
    • Provide basic support for airline operational systems (reservation systems, flight planning tools, crew systems).
    • Ensure IT readiness for operational departments (OCC, Flight Ops, Ground Ops, AMO).
    • Support after-hours when required.

    SKILL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    • CompTIA A+ certification (required);
    • CompTIA Network+ (advantageous);
    • Strong communication skills;
    • Excellent problem-solving skills;
    • Ability to prioritise in a fast-paced airline environment;
    • Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP);
    • 1–2 years’ experience in a junior IT support role (preferred);
    • Drivers license with own transport;
