Junior Maintenance Officer - Department of TuksSport at University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The incumbent will be responsible for:

• Preparation and maintenance of TuksSport facilities for sporting events and junior programmes;
• Safekeeping and administration of sports equipment, furniture and inventory;
• Messenger for the TuksSport Facility office;
• Venue access, floodlight control and event venue preparations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12
• Valid driver’s license

At least three years of experience in the following areas:

• Sports facilities maintenance
• General administration

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):

• Basic electrical knowledge;
• Basic plumbing knowledge;
• Basic technical maintenance skills;
• Proficient technical knowledge of facility management operations and procedures;
• Computer literacy;

ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES:

• Certificate in facilities maintenance
• Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
• Certificate in Basic Life Saving
• Certificate in First Aid
• One year of experience in the following areas:
• Occupational Health and Safety requirements in a facility management environment o Sporting events administration
