Junior Marketing and PR Manager at Media24 (Pty) Ltd

About the Role

• We're looking for an enthusiastic Junior Marketing and PR Manager to support our marketing and PR activities. You'll be instrumental in developing compelling marketing plans, managing media relations, and executing promotional campaigns that drive audience engagement and channel growth.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing & Content Creation

• Write and distribute newsletters, press releases, and promotional copy
• Plan and brief publicity photoshoots, coordinating with photographers, makeup artists and stylists
• Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote channel content and programming
• Create and deliver marketing assets for Netwerk24 and other Media24 platforms

Digital & Advertising Management

• Plan, brief, schedule and quality-check digital, print and on-air advertisements
• Manage social media content scheduling and budget allocation for boosting posts
• Track and report on advertising placements, meeting monthly placement targets
• Book magazine and newspaper advertisements, accommodating sponsorship requirements

Media Relations & PR

• Pitch stories to media partners and maintain relationships with target publications
• Grow VIA's organic PR reach beyond existing media partners
• Compile monthly marketing and PR reports, including statistics and metrics

Stakeholder Coordination

• Communicate promotional planning and changes to Contech and internal teams
• Coordinate with MultiChoice on asset delivery and placement requirements
• Maintain professional relationships with Media24 publications and external partners
• Support internal presentations and show grading activities

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements:

• Degree in Journalism, Media, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or Humanities
• 2-3 years experience in marketing, PR, or media relations
• Fluent in Afrikaans (essential)
• Based in Cape Town and available for on-site work Monday to Friday
• Strong writing, copyediting and proofreading skills
• Experience with social media management and digital marketing

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Understanding of media landscape and publication relationships
• Knowledge of compliance requirements (POPIA advantageous)
