Purpose of the Role
Assess client’s applications for Life and Disability against the companies underwriting risk standards
Provide concise feedback and recommendations on individual life policies
Working together with management and reinsurers to provide the most suitable outcomes on policies the meet the client needs and keep to risk standards set.
Provide support and guidance to consultants on underwriting requirements
Requirements
The individual must have at least 1-3 years experience as an Individual Life Underwriter.
Previous exposure to substandard medical cases
Solid medical underwriting skills
Good understanding of the basics of financial underwriting
Must have a Matric and Degree/ Diploma in the medical or relevant field, an Insurance qualification / FAIS Credits / Regulatory Exam would be an advantage.
