Junior Music Compiler at Kagiso Media

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 Playlist Compilation

• Compile the Jacaranda FM Top 40 and SA Top 20 charts weekly.
• Prepare specialist daily and weekly features (e.g., Hot Hits, High School Classics).
• Develop balanced, high-quality playlists for non-primetime shows (7 PM–6 AM), ensuring compliance with music scheduling rules and local content requirements.

General Duties

• Participate in daily Product Team (PT) meetings, providing updates on planned music activities.

Liaison & Networking

• Manage music and metadata in GSelector and Zetta systems.
• Compile monthly reports (e.g., SAMRO, ICASA, SAMPRA) and ad hoc playlists as needed.
• Attend approved music events and showcases.

Programming Administration

• Manage music and metadata in GSelector and Zetta systems.
• Compile monthly reports (e.g., SAMRO, ICASA, SAMPRA) and ad hoc playlists as needed.
• Assist with promo and sweeper loading and management.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• A qualification in Broadcasting/Media or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in a radio station programming/scheduling environment.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Proficiency with GSelector or similiar scheduling software.
• Proficiency with Zetta or similiar playout software
• Basic knowledge of sound mixing and editing.
• Familiarity with South African music industry processes and regulations.
