About the job
Main Purpose
The QA Tester will assist the QA Lead with processes and personnel to conduct quality assurance testing, across Simfy Africa’s product and technology teams. In this role, the QA Tester is expected to assist with developing effective and efficient methods, maintain documentation throughout the QA process, and communicate with development teams to provide a reliable, consistent, and positive end-user experience.
The QA Tester shall conduct rigorous testing throughout the development process, identifying potential issues and reporting them back to development teams. The QA Tester is also responsible for working with the development team developing and implementing fixes and improvements, to deploy updates and resolve issues that arise during the QA process.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop QA Processes and Procedures
Identify Bugs and Issues
Maintain documentation related to software or system
Manage Testing Schedules
Coordinate Bug Fixes with Development Teams
Review the test basis (such as requirements, design, interface specifications)
Evaluating testability of the test basis and test objects
Identify test conditions based on analysis of test items, the specification, behaviour and structure of the software
Designing and prioritizing high-level test cases
Identifying necessary test data to support the test conditions and test cases
Designing the test environment set-up and identifying any required infrastructure and tools
Design and create test cases for the application under test.
Execute test cases and report bugs to developers.
Coordinate Bug Fixes with Development Teams
Maintain documentation related to software or system
Attend Scrum ceremonies i.e (Standup, Grooming, Planning, Reviews, Retro’s)
Provide Test Reports to QA Lead and team.
Ability to execute API tests via Postman
Ability to write SQL queries to validate the database
Skills and Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with relevant industry experience and the following skills:
QA experience – a background in quality assurance is a necessity in this role
Process enhancement – always seek out ways to improve processes, so familiarity with the process and efficiency enhancement is helpful in this role
Automation background and
Knowledge of a programming language
Organization skills – this role requires a high degree of organization to successfully schedule QA procedures and coordinate development and testing processes
Communication skills – effective verbal and written communication
