    Junior Talent Specialist - JHB

    Job Description

    • We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Junior Talent Specialist to join our HR Operations team. This role combines talent acquisition responsibilities with administrative duties to support the hiring process and HR operations, specifically for retail store positions.
    • The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates, coordinating recruitment activities, onboarding new talent, and ensuring smooth administrative workflows related to recruitment and employee management.

    Key Responsibilities

    Talent Acquisition & Recruitment

    • Source, screen, and interview candidates for retail store vacancies.
    • Partner with Human Resources Business Partners and Hiring Managers to understand hiring needs and job requirements.
    • Create, maintain, and update job descriptions and job advertisements.
    • Manage job boards, recruitment platforms, and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
    • Coordinate interviews, bulk recruitment days, assessment centres, and candidate communication.
    • Assist in developing and implementing recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
    • Build and maintain talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs.

    Onboarding & Employee Support

    • Coordinate onboarding activities, including document collection, background checks, and induction processes.
    • Support the seamless integration of new employees by coordinating training and onboarding requirements.
    • Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases.

    Administration & Reporting

    • Manage recruitment and HR-related administration, filing, and record keeping.
    • Generate recruitment reports and track key hiring metrics.
    • Assist with HR processes, including compliance documentation and employee data management.
    • Coordinate meetings, interviews, and recruitment-related events.
    • Respond to candidate and employee queries professionally and timeously.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
    • 1–3 years' experience in Talent Acquisition, HR, Recruitment, or a related administrative role.
    • Previous retail recruitment or retail industry experience will be highly advantageous.
    • Experience working with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Strong organisational, administrative, and multitasking abilities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Knowledge of South African labour legislation and HR best practices.
    • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
