    Key Account Manager On Premise

    Key Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Trade Marketing
    • Manage margin and revenue growth in related channel by applying product categories optimally.
    • Ensure Channel Strategy is translated into Operational Plans. These plans incorporate the strategic directions for the coming year and addresses programmes by pack and category.
    • Ensure Channel plan objectives are achieved- growth / profitability
    • Ensure Channel plans are implemented and activated to the RED role Model.
    • On ongoing basis workshops with customer regarding their independent business plans and utilises this information in developing future account plans.
    • Regularly review the progress of trading agreements and take corrective action where necessary.
    • Set up promotional grid by pack and category, and support DC implementation of the plan.
    • Manage promotional spend within the promotional framework and annual budgetary requirement.
    • Monthly analysis of key KPI’s performance, for channel
    • Manage spend within the framework and requirements.
    • Support the sales teams in selling channel strategies to customer and implements.
    • Negotiates permanent, promotional and ad hoc space with customer.
    • Carries out quarterly (or as per agreement) business reviews by customer.
    • Trade visits with Sales Team.
    • Ensure the RTM framework is rolled out in accordance with the RTM process
    • Understand pack margin and pack role per customer in order to optimise RTM.
    • Utilise market research and analysis such as Infocy scanner data, Global Edge input etc. to formulate programmes and feedback to customer.
    • Develop, implement and/or manage account specific programmes, promotions and packs as required.
    • Builds personal relationship with customer
    • Interacts at all levels within the organisation
    • Problem Solving and Conflict Handling/Resolution
    • When issues arise at store level, these are often directed formally back to Sales managers. The relevant KAM will be contacted on a national basis. These issues need to be, and normally are resolved professionally and efficiently.

    Skills, Experience & Education  

    Qualifications:

    • 3 year Bcom/Marketing Degree. Post Graduate studies an added advantage.
    • 5 years experience (at e.g. Sales Manager level) or equivalent FMCG
    • 8-10 years industry experience in similar positions within Sales & Marketing.

    • Sound knowledge of Accounting and Marketing principles
    • Excellent interpersonal skills / good motivational skills
    • In-depth Product/ Service knowledge adapted to meet these needs and add value.
    • Good negotiation skills when dealing with customers

    • Advanced negotiation skills
