Lab Analyst at Distell

The Role Purpose

Applications are invited to apply for the above mentioned position to be based in Secondary Production, Springs. The successful candidate will report to the Intrinsic Quality Specialist.

Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

• Perform accurate and timeous analyses on liquor samples as per sampling plans.
• Perform accurate tank preparation analyses prior to a production run.
• Implement and maintain laboratory accreditation.
• Maintain laboratory equipment in area of responsibility according to Good laboratory practices.
• Assist in maintaining the Quality Management system.
• Perform administrative duties.
• Maintain ISO 9001 ad ISO 17025
• Assist in problem solving.
• Actively participate in the Mini business operating system

The Successful Candidate Must Have The Following Experience/skills

• A recognised and relevant Degree / National Diploma in Food Technology or Microbiology
• Ability to work under pressure and accurately while paying attention to detail.
• Strong numerical aptitude and analytical abilities are essential.
• Must be responsible and punctual,
• Ability to reflect good leadership behaviour towards colleagues, supervisors, and respect company values,
• Display knowledge and insight where to obtain information an interpret information relevant to own work area,
• Proven written and communication skills on all levels,
• Ability to implement controls to ensure the achievement of quality standards,
• Strong ability to do problem-solving, fault-finding and knowledge of various problem solving methods,
• Computer literacy, preferably MS Office, LIMS and SAP will be considered advantageous,
• Must be willing to work shifts and overtime if and when required.
