Laboratory Technician - Isando at AFGRI Equipment

Description

Wet chemistry analyses of samples as per applicable procedures. Analyses of all nutritional aspects including, but not limited to protein, fat, fibre, starch, moisture, digestibilities and minerals – technicians work on a rotation schedule. Basic maintenance of equipment as per analyses area. Active participation in developing and maintenance of the ISO 17025 quality system as well as the OHSE system.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• National Diploma or BSc in Chemistry 
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar laboratory environment (nutritional analyses)
• Knowledge of Chemistry
• Experience in an animal feed laboratory will be an advantage
• Experience in an accredited laboratory will be an advantage
• Numerical skills
• Computer literacy – highly competent in Excel
• Accuracy/attention to detail
• Communication skills
• Planning and organizing skills / Time management

• Performing wet chem analyses as per specific methods

• Quality and statistical control of analyses
• Calculating and reporting of results on LIMS
• Drafting of quality documentation
