Job description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Assist with pathology and anatomy practical training.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Pathology postmortems
• Anatomy
• Clinic work if short staffed.

Minimum requirements

• A BSc degree in Animal Health (NQF level 7).
• Registration with the South African Veterinary Council.
• A minimum of 1 year’ experience as an Assistant in pathology and anatomy.

KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

• Theory knowledge of basic pathology on NQF level 8 and Anatomy on NQF level 5 and 6.
• Practical skills on pathology procedures like bloodsmear, brainsmear, sample taking.

BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:

• Punctuality
• Personal improvement plan
• Good interpersonal skills
• Computer literacy

REMUNERATION:

• The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
