ABET Level 3/ minimum of Grade 9 or qualification (authentic school report). Must be able to read and write. Be able to communicate in more than one official local language.
Good verbal and written communication. Ability to work under pressure. Knowledge of Occupational Health and safety act. Understanding of the Batho Pele Principles, Knowledge of customer care and be willing to work in a team. Laundry experience will be an added advantage.
Duties :
Collection and counting of dirty linen from the ward/chute. Sorting of dirty linen before taking it to the service provider. Taking linen to the service provider for washing. Loading and offloading of linen from the truck.
Distribution of clean linen to the wards and pack it in the shelves. Washing and changing of curtains from units. Make sure that the working area is clean and free of fluffs/lint. Conduct stock taking and dispose torn linen as per the disposal policy. Packing of linen in the shelves in the different units.
Cleaning and disinfect floors, shelves, windows and sluicing machines in the linen. Label, tag dirty and sluiced linen. Perform any other duties delegated by the supervisors.
