Lead Data Scientist at Robert Walters

• In this newly created role, you will be responsible for leading and building the team as well as leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of the data science solutions. Key qualifications and experience required for the Lead Data Scientist:

• Masters/PhD degree in Data Science (preferred) / BCom Investments/Economics/Finance
• 5+ years’ experience as a data scientist
• 2+ years’ experience in leading a team of data professionals (advantageous)
• Statistical modelling, machine algorithms and optimisation techniques - NB
• Experience with Python and R, or related coding languages (advantageous)
• Experience in cloud computing platforms (AWS) – Preferrable
• Understanding CI/CD best practices
• Ability to move between tools and languages
• Financial Services/Commercial industry experience

Key Duties For The Lead Data Scientist

• Implement and develop procedures for the extraction and cleaning of data
• Develop and test models, algorithms, and optimisation techniques
• Implement and maintain models for the production environment
• Ensure sound scientific processes are followed
• Collaborate with teams to identify new projects ensuring deliverables and timelines are achieved
• Responsible for the development and training of new data scientists and engineers
• Continually stay up to date with the latest techniques and best practices to ensure business development
