Lead Engineer - DCS Process Automation at Honeywell

Responsible for all technical aspects of the Sasol CCII Level 2 Service Deliverables. Ensuring that all service deliverables are executed to highest level of quality focusing on customer value add and remain focused on customer satisfaction. 

Key responsibilities (tasks / duties)

• Provide expert technical leadership across the CCII Level 2 Service Deliverables.
• Lead the CCII Level 2 Service Deliverable Stream and provide technical guidance and oversight to other implementation streams being interfaced to.
• Lead the development of CCII Level 2 Service Deliverables Standard Operating Environment (technical guidelines and standards) including the creation and maintenance of the Program Technology Refresh Roadmap and implementation plans.
• Liaison with Honeywell global technical expertise, Development Engineering, Product Management and Technology Teams of other programs assisting in creating global standards.
• Review of site-specific variations from the Honeywell guidelines and standards.
• Development and review of technical documentation created within the service deliverables
• Maintenance of design consistency across Sasol site for control systems, process control applications, system architecture and process information applications.
• Manage Technical Interfaces throughout the service deliverable maintaining technical integrity. 
• Design and lead offline testing and pilot implementations.
• Lead CCII Level 2 Technical Leadership team.
• Lead the CCII Level 2 Technical Support Teams (EPKS & Networks)
• Assist with RCA's where required.
• Knowledge sharing and Technical guidance to all program personnel.
• New technology feasibility evaluation & testing for implementation within the service deliverable.
• Assist in driving favorable balanced scorecard results.
• Support Service deliverable growth initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for safety, quality, efficiency and cost competitiveness improvement.
• Assist Field Operations Leader with technical career planning and development within the program.
• Maintain positive relations with clients and internally.
• Support HSE and Quality throughout the Program.

Required Qualifications and / or Experience

• At least 10 years’ experience with Honeywell Distributed Control Systems
• Extensive technical experience of the Honeywell product suites (Experion, TPS, PHD, APC, FDM, AAM, DVM)
• Extensive technical experience with Open Systems Technologies (Cisco Networking, Microsoft Domain, Virtualization, OPC, Honeywell Third-party Interfacing)
• Extensive Honeywell Experion On-process migration experience
• National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree
• Alarm Rationalization & Loop tuning experience (wish)
• Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification (wish)
• ITIL Certification (wish)
• Cisco Certification (wish)

Working Conditions and equipment / tools

• Office Environment, Sasol Plant visits.
• Includes travelling from time to time.
• SASOL site (Safety Requirement i.e. PPE )
• Access to site where equipment resides

• Additional standby or overtime might be required.
