Lead: Enterprise Data Management Solutions at Absa Group Limited (Absa)

Job Summary

• The Chief Analytics Office (CAO) provides a central data management service to the organisation. This role leads the solution support teams who helps users across the organisation adopt and derive value from the data management solutions built and maintained by the Data Management and Governance team. The Head of EDM Solutions defines the service catalogue for these solutions and works closely with the platform support team to ensure a holistic service is provided. The role implements, maintains, supports and continuously improves the solution, and influences the overall data management and governance operating model for the organisation.

Job Description

• Leads the support team that provides training, on boarding and user support for CAO managed data management solutions. The roles is required to ensure that the tools and services are adding value to the organization, and to build and support a thriving data management community.

The following responsibilities must be fulfilled:

• Provide a support service to the organisation to help users understand and effectively use the solutions
• Lead a team of data management and product specialists, focusing on their delivery, upskilling, performance and motivation, and promote cross-skilling so the resource pool supports multiple data management solutions
• Define, maintain and optimise a fit-for-purpose data management and governance operating model, including processes, procedures, KPIs and responsibilities for the solutions under management
• Define and deliver training material, guides, templates and facilitate community of practice sessions to help accelerate adoption and time to value
• Contribute to the data governance framework and process definition and it’s embedment
• Ensure adherence to the data management capability requirements and associated data management policies and standards
• Administer the relevant data management forums with detailed input on data management and governance issues, including proposed resolution and status updates for the solutions under management
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to analyse issues and define resolution actions that may go across multiple business areas for the solutions under management
• Establish and maintain a release management process for changes to the solutions under management, including data management tools, communication, governance, technical and business testing, prioritization and contingency plans
• Represent the department at relevant portfolio, data and risk forums as an enterprise data management SME
• Define and adhere to an agreed OLA for the solutions under management and contract accordingly with the internal service providers needed to deliver the service within the OLA
• Maintain a prioritised solution backlog intended to resolve issues and continually improve the coverage and value of the solutions under management
