Lead Technology at RedM Professional Services

Purpose of the Role

To manage a solution across the people, process and technology components, and provide a service to the business community that relies on Data Engineering for the data processing, consumption and governance needs. This specific Lead Technology role is for the Data Management and Governance set of services being provided to the enterprise.

Job Responsibilities

• Accountable for managing all the technology components of the solution, including cloud and on-premises components, hardware, software, storage, network, backup and disaster recovery.
• Works with all the technology teams that provide the underlying infrastructure and services, while complying with risk and compliance requirements from various policies, standards and improvement initiatives.
• Build, maintain, motivate and lead a team of specialists that include SMEs, developers, administrators, analysts and other supporting roles.
• Lead the implementation of transformative projects like acquiring new commercial solutions, as well as the integration or migration between various solutions and solution components.
• Support and administer current solutions to address issues relating to systems, data, usage, testing, production and non-production environments, and various other user-related challenges and requests for service.
• Lead the development of in-house solutions that supplement the solution with value-adding capabilities like integration frameworks, data ingestion services, reporting solutions and so forth.
• Define and implement good development practices for in house solutions, and for managing the end-to-end solution, including processes, tools and standards.
• Engage business stakeholders that consume the services enabled by the solution, to agree service levels, project support, issue resolution and determine how best to add value to their teams.

Education and Experience Required

• BSc Information Technology or equivalent Diploma
• 5 years in Financial Services or related industry
• 5 years managerial/leadership experience, including managing developers and support personnel.
• 3 years managing an end-to-end technology solution.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Data Management experience, particularly metadata and master data would be highly advantageous.
• Communication, facilitation and negotiation.
• Stakeholder management and change management fundamentals.
• Experience at leading a team of developers would be preferable.
• Commercial acumen Structured approach to solving complex problems Impactful leadership and collaboration.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies and big data platforms and tools
• Experience with central data platforms and services, such as large-enterprise ETL, warehousing and analytics would be advantageous.
