    Learning Facilitator

    About the job
    Summary: This position is accountable for facilitating learning and development and is involved in the preparation, design, delivery and assessment of training and development programs.


    Functions / responsibilities:

    Learning Support and Transformation

    •  Provides input to technology-enabled learning solution plans by reviewing, analysing, and evaluating new technologies to support training needs.
    •  Helps lead the company’s training curriculum development policies and practices
    •  Assist learning team with the evaluation of existing internal and external course material to ensure alignment with business requirements and revise when required
    •  Support in ensuring that representative training committees are in place.
    •  Assist to plan, schedule, invites relevant stakeholders and chair quarterly regional and bi- annual national skills development committee meetings and file minutes thereof.
    •  Follow up on and ensure issues raised at all skills development committee levels are resolved.
    •  Assist in maintaining the relationships between the business and the People function
    • Attend meetings and capacitation sessions (e.g. stakeholder forum and Sector Skills Plan meetings) hosted by the different accreditation institutions (e.g. W&RSETA, UMALUSI, QCTO etc.) to keep abreast of what is happening in the skills development landscape nationally; attend other meetings and capacitation sessions addressing skills development e.g. meetings hosted by training providers.
    •  Keep the Leadership, Behavioural, E-Learning Senior Manager and Learning Senior Manager: Technical & Retail Development updated on feedback from meetings and capacitation sessions.


    Facilitation Preparation

    •  Display solid knowledge in regards to curriculum content and curriculum design and incorporates this knowledge into planning and preparation.
    •  Plan for a wide range of effective pedagogical approaches in the discipline to engage learners in the learning process.
    •  Be knowledgeable in regards to developmental levels, language proficiency, skills, knowledge, and individual learning needs of learners and plans sessions accordingly.
    •  Collaboratively plan and prepare sessions that are part of a sequence of learning with clear and measurable outcomes reflecting high expectations, rigour and important learning in the discipline
    •  Schedules, coordinates & promotes mandatory training courses and learning resources available for staff to access to support their own learning.

    Agile and Effective Facilitation

     

    •  Manages the facilitation of learning activities by executing basic associate trainings on simpler systems and processes; utilize learning systems to monitor, track, and report learning activities.
    •  Share course facilitation improvements with senior management to evaluate program effectiveness against business objectives.
    •  Delivers lessons focused on clear, shared, measurable outcomes as expressed in agreed curriculum.
    •  Incorporates learning materials and resources that are suitable to the learning purpose or objectives of the session.
    •  Uses a range of appropriate learning techniques aligned to learning objectives and assessment practices.
    •  Delivers clear and explicit instructions using vocabulary which is appropriate to all ages, language levels and learning styles
    •  Promotes learner reflection in order to enhance learning and gain feedback on learner progress.
    •  Promote and manage the use of all learning resources and take in feedback from the business to ensure all are accurate and up to date
    •  Employs researched techniques and best practice to promote application, synthesis, evaluation and transference of content, knowledge and skills learned
    •  Monitor and report on areas accessing learning and act as the conduit to curriculum ensuring there are strong links between the Learning Resource Centres and facilitators
    •  Monitor and ensure that all relevant training administrative data is captured and used effectively.
    •  Measures training effectiveness by creating assessments to determine participant reaction, knowledge, and behaviour as well as business impact.
    •  Implementing assessments and reviewing and interpreting participant feedback and assessment results
    •  Understanding gaps in content and learning materials to recommend and implement adjustments to training content; providing feedback to content creators and Learning team.
    •  Apply the Quality Management System (QMS) as per the Group’s L & D guides and standards.
    •  Assist to produce reports on training attendance & mandatory training completion rates for managers to effectively monitor compliance and plan learning and development activities.


    Requirements:

    Qualification:

    •  Matric
    •  Relevant Bachelor of Arts and minimum 2-3 years’ experience in Human Resources/Talent & Learning
    •  Minimum three (3) years’ experience in talent, learning and development role.

    Experience:

    •  Hands-on experience with Learning Management Software/Systems (LMS)
    •  Proven experience in facilitating groups and coordinating training
    •  Proficient in MS Office (i.e. Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
    •  Understanding and knowledge of SA legislation and respective HR policies, procedures and processes
