    Lecturer in Industrial Engineering with Sustainable Mining (nGAP) (P003793) (Re-Advertisement)

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Teaching 

    • Years 1-3: Be responsible for at least one undergraduate/postgraduate diploma module.
    • Year 4 onwards: Be responsible for at least two undergraduate/postgraduate diploma modules.

    Final year supervision

    • Years 1-3: Limited to own development.
    • Year 4 onwards: Progressively more research in a research group associated with the School/Centre, including postgraduate study supervision, as per the annual task agreement.

    Research

    • Completion of own postgraduate study and research experience.
    • Professional body registration.
    • Participate in CSM Research Group.

    School Administration

    • As required / per task agreement.

    Minimum requirements

    • An MEng/MSc Industrial Engineering (with specialization in mining applications) or Mining Engineering (NQF Level 9). The master’s degree must be achieved with an average of 70% or above. Please attach proof of the results in your application.
    • An appropriate BEng/ BScEng degree that allows for registration as a Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA, http://ecsa.co.za), in terms of the Washington accord.
    • A minimum of one (1) year of teaching or student assistant experience.
    • Applicants must be SA citizen and 40 years or younger of age.

    ADDED ADVANTAGES & PREFERENCES:

    • Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
    • A minimum of two (2) years’ evidence of independent research or industry experience.
