Lecturer in the Department of Zoology & Entomology
All academics are responsible for the dissemination of knowledge (teaching and learning), creation of knowledge (research) and community engagement, recognising that there are differences in the execution of these responsibilities within the various departments and Faculties.
Academics are also expected to assume some administrative, management and/or leadership duties at the departmental, Faculty and/or University level, and make some contribution to their profession.
The requirements
Lecturer:
At least a PhD in an entomological topic.
Tutoring, facilitation, or conference presentation experience required. Some teaching experience is an added advantage.
Ability to teach in some of the following disciplinary areas: general entomology, ecophysiology, insect diversity, insect form and function, parasitology, medical veterinary entomology, forensic entomology, apiculture, genetics, conservation, pest management.
Some research supervision of postgraduate degrees is an added advantage.
Some administrative experience albeit in informal contexts e.g., student or sports clubs, work experiences.
