Lecturer(Ref. 321): Department: Construction Management & Quantity Surveying at Durban University of Technology

Minimum Requirements

• Master's degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management from an accredited institution or comparable institution.
• Three (3) years of relevant teaching experience and/or professional construction experiencen employed in increasingly responsible management positions primarily in the South African construction or comparable industry.

Additional Recommendations:

• A strong passion for teaching and research.
• Ability to coordinate and manage courses effectively;
• Good communication and lecturing skills; and
• Proof of 3 years of relevant teaching experience in either the construction sector or consulting quantity surveying firm.
• Quantities and documentation skills
• An ability to develop a research profile in either digital construction or business management; and;
• Commitment to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion, and ability to contribute to the diversity of the Faculty community.

Summary of Duties:

• Teaching and assessing at all levels.
• Development of learning materials.
• The successful candidate is expected to be actively involved in research in the department; and
• Assist with administrative and other duties as prescribed by the Head of Department as delegated.
