    Lecturer: Soil Physics Chemistry

    Requirements: 

    • A Master’s (70% minimum) degree in Soil Science specializing in Soil Physics and Chemistry. 
    • Preferably, the candidate should be less than 40 years. 
    • As an added advantage, must at most have one (01) year teaching experience at a University or comparable Institution of high learning. 
    • Evidence of at least two (02) publication in DHET- accredited journal. 
    • Evidence of both national or international conference attendance and presentation of papers. 
    • Ability to supervise research projects at final year undergraduate and Honours level. 
    • Traceable experience in community engagement work. 
    • Commitment to undertake PhD studies soon after commencement of the position or evidence of enrollment for PhD studies. 
    • Applications who have registered for a PhD at the advertising institution will have an added advantage. 

    Duties and Responsibilities: 

    The successful candidate will be expected to: 

    • Teach Soil Science modules, mainly Soil Physics, Soil Chemistry and Mineralogy. 
    • Undertake individual research or in collaboration with colleagues within and outside the Department. 
    • Supervise research projects for undergraduate fourth level and Honours students. 
    • Undertake and arrange community outreach activities as part of the University’s mandate. 
    • Prepare and develop learning and assessment materials. 
    • Perform any other duties/responsibilities, including but not limited to administrative duties that may be assigned by the Head of Department.
