Job Description

• The IIE Varsity College, Pietermaritzburg Campus has a vacancy for a Lecturer (Independent Contractor) within the School of Education.
• TIP Nat Sciences and Technology 2A : TNST6311

Minimum Education Requirements:

• A minimum of a B.Ed. Honour's degree or Postgraduate Diploma  in Education (at NQF level 8) or Humanities/Arts/Sciences/Social Sciences Honours degree.

 And:

• The undergraduate or postgraduate qualification must include a module on Teaching and Learning/Pedagogy. 

 And:

• The undergraduate qualification or postgraduate qualification must include Natural Science and Technology or component subjects like Physical Science, Biology or Life Sciences to at least NQF level 6 (usually the 2nd year of study).

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:

• School teaching experience in Natural Sciences & Technology (or component subjects –i.e. Biology, Science, and/or Technology) is required
• Ideally, lecturing experience at tertiary level
• Previous lecturing experience within tertiary environment is advantageous
• Current industry knowledge is essential
