As a Legal Counsel you will be responsible for provision of sound legal advice to all business units and functions within Afrox
Understanding and implementing all laws, regulations and governance policies including all processes and procedures required to ensure compliance by the divisions/business units and company will be high on your agenda
Contract drafting, reviewing and negotiation to successful completion and assists in proposing solutions for risk mitigation will be part of your responsibilities
Dispute resolution management though effective execution of litigation, dispute, and collections matters internally, and management of outside counsel instructions and budgets will be a part of your role
Additionally, you will support and guide the business units in the capturing and contracting of new business contracts, public and private contracts
You will manage litigation matters and external counsel costs with a view to mitigate risk as best possible
Lastly, you will proactively identify legal risks to the business and assist in developing strategies and internal documents to mitigate risk
What makes you great
You possess a Bachelor of Laws (LLB)
Furthermore, you have 4 to 8 years of experience in the related field
Being a registered attorney will be an advantage
You demonstrate a strong command of legal and regulatory environment
You possess strong corporate and commercial background such as drafting, negotiating, reviewing and drafting a wide range of agreements ranging from standard to bespoke agreements
In addition, you have risk and compliance experience, within a multinational company
Experience in cross border transactions in the engineering, industrial gasses, energy or related fields will be advantageous
