What will you do?
The role exists to ensure Forensic Services executes on their mandate in terms of the Sanlam Life Insurance Fraud Risk Management Policy by using data analytics to identify financial crimes.
What will make you successful in this role?
You will be required to:
Implement new queries to optimise fraud detection by considering industry trends, new products etc;
Find effective new sources of data by means of data analytics and write new queries to pro-actively detect fraud;
Provide support to the SLS Forensic Services Team by using data analytical tools to make investigations more time efficient;
Keeping abreast with industry trends, technology and best practices by liaising with industry stakeholders and the SAPS network
Compile reports detailing detection findings
Qualification and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or certification in data/statistical analysis/or Information Technology Systems, audit will be advantageous.
ACFE/ICFP certifications is preferred.
3-5 years experience in similar role and environment will be required.
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of the financial services industry in general is required
Knowledge of Sanlam’s various systems would be advantageous
Good understanding of trends and patterns indicative of fraud indicators
Strong Data Analysis (Data Scripting/ Data Analysis / Data Mining / Data management) experience.
Scripting knowledge to write queries to identify and detect possible incidents of unlawful conduct; and,
Experience and sound knowledge of the following tools and databases are recommended:
ACL Data Analytics (optional)
Microsoft SQL
Microsoft App suite
Excel
IBM Data Studio (optional)
IT Data Analysis
Data Collection
Data Mining
Advanced analytics to address business requirements
