Live-out House Mother at Rustenburg Girls'​ High School

Description    

Erinville Hostel, the Rustenburg Girls’ High School’s Boarding establishment, is looking for a compassionate, patient, dedicated and well-spoken part-time live-out House mother from April 2024. The candidate will be expected to help us provide a safe ‘home-away-from home’ environment for our boarders, among other pastoral and administrative responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements    

The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:

• Preferably a single female aged between 35 and 50
• Must have at least five to ten years’ experience working with teenagers
• Be a non-smoker of sober habits
• Be computer literate with the ability to demonstrate proficiency in using MS Office (Word, Excel, Email, Internet)
• Must be a dedicated team player
• Be open-minded to the diverse cultures represented in our boarding house
• Have flexibility to work shifts.

Preference will be given to candidates who:

• Are familiar with boarding schools and school’s policies
• Have experience in working with teenagers
• Have at least Level 1 First Aid.

Duties and Responsibilities    

• The candidate will be expected to help us provide a safe ‘home-away-from home’ environment for our boarders
• Provide emotional support and medical care for learners when it is needed
• Assist girls with homework when they need it or point them to a resource that can assist them
• Monitor cleanliness and maintenance needs and report as necessary
• Assist with administrative duties as required.
