Logistics Coordinator, Woodmead, Gauteng at Sheldon Recruitment

• We are seeking a Logistics Coordinator for a permanent vacancy based in Woodmead, Gauteng

Applicants are required to meet the following criteria

• Grade 12, with tertiary education in procurement and/or logistics, or relevant experience in a customer-focused administration role
• Minimum of 2 years’ relevant administrative, procurement, and logistics experience in the chemical sector
• Knowledge of bulk and specialty chemicals and the related transportation safety requirements and guidelines
• Knowledge of import and export regulations; Good financial understanding & detail-oriented
• Experience using Microsoft programs, including Excel, Word, and databases
• Experience using accounting programs, preferably Sage
• Able to work in a pressurised environment and meet strict deadlines
• Able to work independently and proactively; Good time management skills
• A friendly, professional manner and strong interpersonal skills are essential
• Able to represent the company professionally when interacting with clients, suppliers, and transporters; Exceptional communication and customer service skills

The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Review, process, and track orders
• Negotiate rates with transporters
• Coordinate and schedule deliveries
• Prepare delivery and shipment
• Manage shipping subcontractors and stock levels at the offsite facility
• Ensure compliance with all applicable local and international transportation laws and regulations
• Act as the point of contact for delivery times, delays, and updates.
• Liaise with the sales team
