Logistics Manager at Pollock & Associates

We are seeking a Logistics Manager to oversee all aspects related to Logistics, Supply Chain and Customer Care in South East Africa. Reporting to the Director, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring logistics management activities to ensure the timely and efficient transportation and warehousing of incoming and outgoing materials, as well as the distribution of products.
 
To be successful in this role, you must possess a degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or International Trade, along with 5 years of relevant experience in Logistics, International Trade, and Supply Chain. You must also have a strong technical knowledge of Customs and other applicable regulations related to the import/export of goods, as well as experience working with SAP and MRP planning tools. Understanding and management of financial concepts such as budgeting, forecasting, and cost management are also essential. Working experience in an international multicultural environment is an asset.
 
Key Result Areas include:

• In Logistics, you will identify opportunities for optimization in warehousing, distribution network, and local transport.
• You will be responsible for acquisition activities within Logistics, including negotiation, contracting, and operational follow-up, as well as coordinating contract and daily contacts with third-party warehouse and freight providers.
• You will also maintain close contact with customs authorities, develop and implement processes to allow import/export flow in compliance with local regulations in force and monitor the performance of all logistics activities. 
• In Supply Chain, you will optimize supply flows and distribution flows to meet business needs and cost targets, continuously balance service level, inventory, and operational costs, coordinate the product-forecasting process, delivery to customers, inventory-planning, and replenishment of different products from the worldwide production network.
• You will also coordinate product phase-ins/phase-outs or urgent supply interventions in case of quality.
