Our Client , a Global FMCG Manufacturing company with head office based in Durban has an exciting opportunity for a Manager-Logistics Africa reporting to the Supply Chain Director Africa

Head the Logistics strategy and operations across Sea/Air Freight, Warehousing, Transportation Inbound/Outbound and Reverse Logistics.
Develop and implement local Logistics Strategy (Roadmap) & Network Footprint across Sea/Air Freight, Warehousing, Transportation Inbound/Outbound and Reverse Logistics.
Develop and implement a Logistics strategy to support channel development such as e-commerce, drive efficiencies given that this role is accountable for 2nd biggest cost line.
Manage >10 3PLs with a substantial spend p.a. across Sea/Air Freight, Warehousing, transportation Inbound/Outbound and Reverse Logistics categories
Accountable for all warehousing and transport costs
Continuous drive to reduce costs through optimization

Lead the Logistics function to ensure execution of related operational processes, lead the corresponding team, continuously improve the underlying processes and build and establish collaboration and exchange with all related functions as well as respective 3PLs/Logistics Service Providers.

The portfolio entails Inbound sea, land and air transport, warehousing, outbound transport and reverse logistics.
This role is pivotal in managing several stakeholders including, customers, PC’s, internal functions, 3rd Parties and global procurement to actively manage and drive cost optimization, WOC and sustainable solutions within the Logistics space.

• Minimum 7-10 years in Supply Chain Management in FMCG
• Minimum 5 years in a senior strategic management role in Logistics, Warehousing ,Distribution
• Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or relevant tertiary qualification.
• Knowledge of imports, exports, freight and distribution systems, inventory management, demand and supply planning.
• Experienced in negotiation.

• Knowledge of sales & operations planning
• ERP/MRP systems (SAP, QAD, ACCPAC, BATCHMASTER PLUS)
