Logistics Process Specialist (Raw Material) (Steelpoort) at Samancor Chrome

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

• To optimise logistics and raw material handling by ensuring safe, reliable and cost-effective use of Surface Mobile Equipment, while maintaining quality, customer service, contractor management, improvement initiatives and operational objectives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

PLANNING & SCHEDULING and STOCK MANAGEMENT

• RM stock days management and planning
• Order allocations 
• Order tracking reporting (Receipts vs Order)
• Transporter allocation
• Furnace and PSP consumption approvals
• Quality Management and customer complaints
• RM stock report management
• RM month end reports
• Transporter performance report and review
• Managing the stock report on MES (negative stocks)
• Month end recon report

QUALITY MANAGEMENT & RISK CONTROL

• Plant optimisation and improvements
• IMS and SHEQ targets
• Survey and recon data capturing and reporting
• Investigate survey discrepancies and reports
• Checkpoint deviations investigation and reports
• Continuous improvement projects
• Ensuring field prep for survey and verifying recon
• Monthly RCFA
• Quality Management and customer complaints
• Management of Monthly Service Level Agreements.

SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION & UPDATES

• Tickets Approval
• SAP ERP Connect integration report
• Approval of check point deviations

CUSTOMER/SUPPLIER SERVICE

• Attend to escalated supplier/transporter queries
• Monitor and review delivery schedule from suppliers
• Site visits to suppliers and transporters for evaluations

Requirements

• Degree or National Diploma in Metallurgy/Chemical Engineering
• 4 years’ relevant experience
• SAP/MES qualification/experience in material procurement and supplier reconciliation
