Job Description

• We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Long Haul Coordinator to support the effective coordination of distribution activities across South Africa
• The successful candidate will coordinate with third-party transport providers, ensure efficient movement of goods, monitor delivery performance, analyse operational data, and maintain clear communication with all relevant stakeholders

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and ensure the correct number of third-party vehicles are arranged for planned loads
• Support planners with the preparation and updating of weekly delivery plans
• Monitor and ensure third-party transporters consistently meet agreed load targets
• Track and monitor all third-party deliveries while in transit
• Ensure products are distributed accurately and within the required timeframes
• Investigate customer and operational complaints and implement appropriate corrective actions
• Maintain and update transport rates in accordance with fuel price changes
• Analyse transporter performance and identify opportunities for improved efficiency
• Support future pricing reviews and participate in preferred-supplier processes
• Ensure transport invoices are processed and paid on time, while resolving any discrepancies or disputes
• Conduct regular performance reviews with third-party transport suppliers
• Ensure transport claims relating to in-transit damages are investigated and closed out promptly
• Liaise with the Loading Supervisor regarding loading plans and progress
• Perform other duties and responsibilities relevant to the role as required

Qualifications & Skills

• Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field
• Previous logistics experience within the transport industry will be advantageous
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• SAP experiencewill be advantageous
• Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
