Maintenance Manager (Electrical) at CLS Human Capital Specialists

Job Purpose

The responsibility of this role will be to repair, inspect, verify, and maintain electrical systems, as well as maintaining and repairing engines of farm vehicles, tractors and any other repairs needed.

Education and Qualification Requirements

Minimum education (essential)

• Matric
• Red Seal Certified

Minimum education (desirable)

• Qualified Electrician

Minimum applicable experience (years)

• 3 - 4 years

Required nature of experience

• Inspection and testing electrical components and systems.
• Error detection - PLC (programmable logic systems).
• Experience in single and three-phase motors.
• General maintenance.
• General knowledge of diesel engines/power generators.
• Basic knowledge of welding and plumbing work.

Skills and Knowledge (essential)

• MS Office
• Excellent communication skills
• Organised and focused
• Experience managing a team of technicians.

Skills and Knowledge (desirable)

• Fluent in English and Afrikaans.
• Valid driver’s license and road worthy vehicle.

Other

• Working hours: 07h00 – 17h00, will be paid for overtime worked on Saturdays and Sundays.

Key Performance Areas

• Perform routine inspections, testing, and repairs of electrical systems, including wiring, circuits, and components, to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Conduct regular servicing, troubleshooting, and repairs of diesel generators to ensure optimal performance during power outages and emergencies.
• Maintain and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and control systems, ensuring seamless automation and accurate operation of machinery.
• Respond quickly to electrical failures and generator breakdowns, diagnosing issues and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
• Develop and execute maintenance schedules for generators and electrical systems, performing routine checks and replacements to prevent unexpected failures.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify electrical problems and generator malfunctions accurately, expediting the repair process.
• Adhere to electrical safety standards and protocols, ensuring a secure working environment for both maintenance tasks and regular operations.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and replacements performed on electrical systems and generators for reference and reporting.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in electrical and generator technology, applying relevant knowledge to enhance maintenance practices.
• Collaborate effectively with other maintenance team members, engineers, and operational staff to troubleshoot complex issues and ensure smooth overall facility operations.
