Job Description

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all maintenance activities within Multi Green (Pty) Ltd. Taking accountability for ensuring that all facilities and equipment are properly maintained, repaired, and upgraded to ensure smooth operations and long-term functionality, prioritising preventative maintenance. The Maintenance Manager will also be responsible for managing a team of technicians and allocating resources effectively.

Requirements

• Grade 12/ NQF4
• Relevant technical qualification/ Trade Test will serve as recommendation (Millwright, Electrician, Fitter and Turner, Boilermaker or similar).
• 5 Year's proven experience in the overall management/ maintenance within a FMCG environment.
• Proven knowledge of Preventative Maintenance measures and processes
• Computer literate in MS Office

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a proactive maintenance strategy to minimize equipment downtime and maximize productivity.
• Manage and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and mentoring to ensure they meet performance goals.
• Create maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs and maintenance activities with minimal disruption to daily operations.
• Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
• Oversee the repair and troubleshooting of equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime and maintain optimal efficiency.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and coordinate maintenance activities in line with production or project schedules.
• Monitor inventory levels of spare parts and equipment and establish relationships with suppliers to ensure timely availability of required items for maintenance.
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and potential upgrades or replacements.
• Develop and manage the maintenance department's budget, including forecasting costs, optimizing spending, and recommending capital expenditures as required.
• Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and other relevant documentation.
