Maintenance Operator Gr 1 Mechanical x4 at Sasol

Purpose of Job

• To support with the maintenance of mechanical / electro-mechanical / electro-mechanical systems and equipment.
• To operate mechanical / electro-mechanical devices and systems, and accurately and efficiently collect field data to ensure optimum productivity. Maintenance Operators are critical to supply maintenance assistance to mechanical artisans and together, ensure that essential maintenance activities are executed timeously to support plant operations

Key Accountabilities
 In addition to a pre-employment medical examination, some positions may require a physical fitness assessment as part of the normal selection criteria.

• Report deviations and defects to Foreman
• Assist Artisans in daily activities
• Good Housekeeping and high Safety standards
• Perform inspections daily
• Supervision on store and spears 
• Communication skills
• Team player
• Self-driven
• Work under pressure with minimal supervision
• Must be able to do physical labour
• Time and safety conscious
• Ability to carry out inspections and complete defect reports
• Basic computer literacy will be to your advantage

Formal Education

• Grade 12/N3 with Maths, Science and English (Must)
• NQF 2 Mechanical occupational qualification (Wish/advantage)
• Driver’s license C1(Must)

Working Experience

• Basic mechanical maintenance understanding
• Preventative maintenance execution
• Plant maintenance experience (wish)
