Maintenance Practitioner - Mechanical (Witbank) at Samancor Chrome

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To be the continuous improvement of Maintenance and Engineering processes and standards through analysing, reporting and implementing of projects

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY

• Comply with SHEQ requirements (SHEQ Toolbox)
• Utilise the Information Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status.
• Adhere to all related SOPs, PTOs and CTOs as per the Training Matrix per position, SHEQ and Company standards.

CUSTOMERS

• Monitor, review, and improve PM task list and general maintenance practices.
• Incorporate suggestions from Artisans, Supervisors and Production Personnel to continuously improve the schedule in terms of safety, duration and cost.
• Coach users on PM functions
• Ensure customer satisfaction.

BUSINESS PROCESSES:

• Assist with engineering development, maintenance strategy and technological improvements.
• Process optimization and continuous improvement of maintenance processes
• Maintenance improvement and sustainability projects
• Drive RCFA investigations, PMO Audits, Pareto analysis and projects
• Process data in order to manage process efficiency and effectiveness across all Business Units
• Maintain maintenance reliability through developing relationships with key internal stakeholders i.e. Production, Artisans, Contractors and all Business Units
• Assist with engineering development and technological improvements.
• Assist to link new materials to bills of materials and regularly update bills of materials on SAP.
• Load new task lists and update existing task lists on GSAP.
• Capture, update and maintain maintenance plans on GSAP.
• Populate SSI’s when so required.
• Statutory management, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, legislation and related.

Maintenance Support:

• Link new materials to Bills of Materials and update Bills of Materials on SAP
• Load New Task Lists and update existing Task Lists on GSAP
• Capture, update and maintain maintenance plans on GSAP.

Daily:

• Report on delays, notifications and comments from shift reports on a responsible section of the plant.
• Review all delays on the plant.
• Assist with plant delays.

Cost control – Capital budgets

• Corrective/Preventative tasks during monthly shutdowns
• Maintenance Support:
• Planned maintenance audits.
• Task list reviews
• Compilation of BOM’s
• Continuous improvement projects
• Ensure improvements are recorded on management plans or MOCs where necessary.

Maintenance Data Analysis:

• Pareto Analysis
• Root Cause failure analysis
• Analyse chronic problems and provide suitable solutions.

Requirements

• B Degree or N Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• 3 years’ relevant experience
• Knowledge of SAP System and MS Office
