    Maintenance Supervisor - Eastern & Southern Cape

    Job Description

    • At Frogfoot, we are in search of a Maintenance Supervisor to join the Maintenance team and assume responsibility for the Eastern and Southern Cape areas.

    Purpose of the Role

    • At Frogfoot, keeping our network running smoothly takes great planning, technical know-how, and a team that works well together.
    • As the Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for planning, coordinating and overseeing the installation and maintenance of FTTB and FTTH services across the Southern and Eastern Cape.
    • You’ll lead and support the maintenance team, making sure work is effectively allocated, completed to the required standards and that customer requirements are managed proactively and efficiently.
    • This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll bring together people, planning, technical expertise and customer service to keep the Frogfoot network moving.

    What You'll Be Responsible For

    • Plan, coordinate and allocate maintenance work to team members.
    • Compile and communicate daily work allocation schedules.
    • Prioritise work and ensure maintenance activities are completed efficiently.
    • Lead, support and coordinate the maintenance team.
    • Monitor team performance against agreed objectives and provide appropriate feedback.
    • Identify and address team performance or operational issues.
    • Ensure maintenance and installation work is completed accurately and to the required standards.
    • Oversee activities relating to fibre installation, fault finding, testing, splicing, duct and cable installation and reinstatement work.
    • Manage customer requirements and ensure queries are addressed promptly and professionally.
    • Liaise with internal departments and other stakeholders to resolve queries and coordinate activities.
    • Investigate operational issues, gather information and determine appropriate solutions.
    • Prepare and maintain accurate reports relating to maintenance activities and team performance.
    • Ensure information and records are accurately captured and maintained.
    • Make informed decisions when dealing with operational challenges and changing circumstances.
    • Ensure work is completed according to required specifications, processes and instructions.
    • Communicate clearly and effectively with team members, management, customers and other stakeholders.
    • Coordinate activities across different teams and departments to ensure work is completed efficiently.

    What You'll Need to Have

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Grade 12 / Matric.
    • A tertiary qualification would be advantageous.
    • 3–5 years' experience in a telecommunications environment.
    • At least 1 year of supervisory or managerial experience.

    Technical Knowledge

    You’ll need practical knowledge and experience in:

    • Civil works.
    • Fibre installation.
    • Fibre testing.
    • Fibre reinstatements.
    • Site builds.
    • Fault finding.
    • Installation of fibre duct and cable.
    • Fibre splicing and testing.
    • Installation of ONTs and routers.
    • Windows operating systems.
    • ICT terminology.

    Skills & Capabilities

    You should be able to:

    • Coordinate multiple activities and changing priorities.
    • Lead and support a team effectively.
